👋🏻 Hi, I’m Alexandra (Alex) Ho
I’m a biomedical illustrator and animator specializing in creating engaging scientific visuals for a variety of audiences.
I obtained my master’s degree in Biomedical Communications from the University of Toronto. Additionally, I have a background in graphic design, neuroscience, and physiology.
Combining my research and design skills, I have worked with healthcare professionals, researchers, and textbook editors from Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, UofT, and UBC, creating accurate and fun visual solutions to simplify complex biomedical content for various audiences. I have a passion for creating educational animations for patients and lay audiences, pathological and anatomical illustrations, data visualization, graphic medicine, and scientific editorial covers. Through my work, I explore various visual styles through 2D and 3D to mixed media approaches, tackling each design problem from a unique perspective.
